#2 WHAT FILM SHOULD WE WATCH IN THIS CLASS?

The movie we should watch in this class is The Prestige because its a great movie that every one will enjoy. The Prestige is a film with a screenplay adapted from Christopher Priest's novel of the same name. This movie would be great to watch in class because it will keep every one trying to guess whats going on in the movie, and a little mystery is always fun. Its about a friendship that became a rivalry over a stage illusion and became deadly. The Prestige is a story that follows Robert Angier, played by Hugh Jackman, and Alfred Borden, played by Christian Bale, rival stage magicians, who engage in a competitive rivalry in trying to create the best stage illusion, as a result of their obsession they lose a lot more than they gain. They end up risking their lives and the lives of their loved ones and all just because they want to become the best illusionist. What makes this movie so good is that you don't know what to expect as you watch the movie. It keeps you on the edge because as your watching it all you think about is what is going to happen next. The movie is a little confusing but if you pay attention to every detail in it you might understand what is going on and even so you may still not understand what happens in the movie. This movie has made up for its name because with this movie comes a lot prestige. The film earned $14,801,808 on its opening weekend in the United States, debuting as #1 at the theatres. The Prestige received nominations for the Academy Award for Best Art Direction, Academy for Best Cinematography, and a nomination for Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation. The Prestige has proven itself to be one of the best movies of all times in my opinion. This movie is worthy of having the success it has achieved. I insist, The Prestige is the movie we should definitely watch in film class.

  1. This post is a little too short. Add a couple more sentences. Make sure that every sentence you write is in your words, not in the words of another critic.
